In 2021, a kitchen renovation project was born in an ancestral home, located in the heart of Sillery.

The clients’ goal and the project’s main objective was to draw inspiration from the home’s original style, while also adding a modern touch. A transitional style was the perfect way to bring their vision to life.

In order to cater to the client’s needs, our designer had to be creative. The space itself presented a challenge, so major changes needed to be made to accommodate the final design. The clients and contractor collaborated so that the second dining room could be repurposed to expand the kitchen area. Given that ergonomics were a priority, this proved to be the best decision the clients could make.

Materials

Cabinets : Worked shaker doors in lacquered cherry wood
Countertop : White Arabesque by Silestone
Handles : POI-R7253-128-ABN, PO-R7253-256-ABN

Furthermore, practicality was also at the heart of the clients’ preoccupations, so several accessories were added, including a double trash can, a handy spice drawer, essential dividers for both small and large utensils on both sides of the cooktop and island, and finally, integrated cabinet lighting.

The striking 126-inch island in this kitchen offers seating for up to four guests. This feature undoubtedly makes the kitchen even more inviting, turning it into the perfect place for family and friends to gather.

A black lacquer finish on cherry wood was suggested for the island and a portion of the kitchen, to add character and boldness to the design. Paired with white lacquered cherry wood and a hint of walnut, this choice of durable and timeless materials won the couple over.

Some of our favourite elements from this project include the majestic covered hood, the walnut accents, the added touch of glass cabinet doors and black accessories, and the White Arabesque countertop from Silestone.
